Who are we?

  People who enjoy making art and sharing it with people just like you.  We happen to live in a senior community located on Breton Woods Dr in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.  Here are short bios so you can know something about us.

Janine Zomermaand is a woman with over 40 years of experience creating beautiful paintings which hang in many people's homes and in various buildings where her paintings are on display. She earned a degree in Fine Art from Purdue University. She has been coached by a variety of artists who have helped her develop her skills. Janine has won awards in various shows, including winning Best of Show at the Wyckoff Women's Club Art show in Wyckoff, New Jersey.  Over the years, she has developed her own style, with which she currently  creates primarily abstract acrylic paintings.

Bob Zomermaand is Janine's husband. Bob had for many years been a pastor and also taught theology and philosophy. He has been painting since the lockdown days of Covid. Bob saw Janine enjoying her art group which managed to continue to meet during the lockdowns. She invited him to come along and just enjoy being in a large room with some folks who were creating art. He began to sketch and paint with a small set of colored pencils, watercolor colored pencils, and soft pastels. He now paints with the same materials as he creates works both abstract and realistic.
